In this interdisciplinary seminar Alumni from the Sub-Sahara region are getting together to learn and discuss the properties and utilisation of bamboo as a renewable raw and building material and its role in climate change adaptation and mitigation. A current project by Paulino Botao (Weltweit & ASSAMBA member, HSRM lecturer) in which a research and training centre for renewable raw materials, in particular bamboo, is being designed, serves as a case study and starting point. The immediate goal (output) of this seminar is to draft a curriculum for this centre.
