Dayak Farmers: Land Guardians and Entrepreneurs of Indonesia Central Kalimantan

Active

«Dayak Farmers: Land Guardianas and Entrepreneurs of Indonesia Central Kalimantan» is a EuropeAid project realized through the cooperation of three organizations, including Weltweit. At the heart of the action is the strengthening of civil society in Central Kalimantan, Borneo as an independent actor of good governance. In a region where external economic forces—such as palm oil plantation expansion, illegal mining and the potential implementation of carbon credit schemes over the forest by outside actors—continue to erode traditional livelihoods and ecological resilience, we aim to enhance the capacities of Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) across at least 25 villages, including 10 Dayak Indigenous communities and 15 farmer groups. This will be realized by equipping these grassroots organisations with the tools and knowledge to advocate for land rights, engage in participatory governance, and pursue sustainable livelihoods.

Green Bridges

Active

The “Green Bridges: Virtual Exchanges for Climate Action and Social Innovation” project connects young people from Europe (Spain, Germany, Denmark) and Sub-Saharan Africa (Uganda, Guinea, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Nigeria) through a program of interactive digital events. The focus is on urgent needs in the areas of climate education, digital skills, social innovation, and inclusive participation. The consortium of eight organizations guides participants through digital events and group work on real-world problems, leading up to the development and presentation of solutions to relevant stakeholders.

Bamboo Educational and Research centre in Mozambique

Active

This project involves the construction of a research centre on a established 3-hectare bamboo forest, in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambican southern village, in parallel with the expansion of 30 hectares bamboo cultivation. By planting and using bamboo in a sustainable way, we can create jobs, provide decent and affordable housing, feed and save thousands of lives while protecting the environment and reduce the risks from devastating floods.
